Volunteer Advocates

Volunteers Change Lives

CSN volunteers reflect the fabric of our community; they are all genders, all ethnicities, all socio-economic backgrounds, all ages. Prior experience is not required. The only prerequisites are empathy, an open mind, and a desire for safe, equitable relationships for all.

Become An Advocate

Whether you’re a teacher, parent, employer, donor, or would-be volunteer, we invite you to join our efforts and engage in advocacy.

CSN volunteers are referred to as advocates and our volunteer training is called “Advocacy Training.” Training is split into two sections. Advocacy 1 is for any and all community members who are curious to learn more about the dynamics of abuse and how they can advocate for a culture without gender-based violence. If you wish to volunteer alongside clients, then you can continue onto Advocacy 2, which focuses on direct-client service, therapeutic support tools, and helpline scenario practice.

Training is free and offered a couple times a year.

All volunteers interacting with clients are required to complete the 40-hour training course.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • helpline shifts
  • shelter managing
  • childcare
  • administrative help
  • education
  • community events
