Qué esperar

At CSN we believe that every interaction is a chance for healing and restoration. CSN advocates are specially trained in trauma informed services to provide you with a high level of support. We understand it can be difficult to ask for support and hope knowing what to expect will make taking that step a little easier.

All Day, Every Day

Community safety network is here to help when you need it most, and all of the moments in between. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No matter when you need support, we’re here.

Free

We know that often the cost of service can be a barrier. At CSN you do not have to worry about the cost of an appointment, interpretation services, staying in our emergency housing program, etc. All services provided by CSN staff are free.

Confidential

Living in a small town while experiencing abuse can feel isolating. Our advocates are committed to a high level of confidentiality, we will never disclose any information – or even that you are working with CSN – for any reason unless you want us to. This includes friends, family, law enforcement, your partner, children, or anyone else inquiring. Your safety and trust are very important to us and a key to supporting you.

Voluntary

We will never push you to do anything you do not feel comfortable with. You have options and many possibilities that are available to you. We provide support, encouragement, and the resources needed for individuals to begin a self-determined path of personal healing and growth.  You are the expert; we are just here to guide you. No expectations.

Client-Centered

We understand each client within their family, social and community contexts, and life experiences. We respect each individual as a whole person and recognize the larger context of their lives. This includes honoring all forms of trauma, past and present.

Trauma-Informed

We recognize and seek to understand the impact of trauma and its manifestations on individuals and build supportive services that are informed and responsive. Our environments and services are designed to offer safety and confidentiality, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural humility.

Individualized

We recognize each person is the expert of their own experiences, and honor the resilience developed as a result. We value each individual’s uniqueness, and therefore safety plans are tailored to meet the individual concerns of each client.

All are welcome

CSN does not discriminate based on race/ethnicity, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, (dis)ability, social class, economic status, education, marital status, religious affiliation, residency, or HIV status. Our advocates and staff are continuously being trained in different areas to learn how to best support individuals from different identities including cultural, language, sexual, etc.

Emergency housing

Our on-site emergency housing program is highly secure on the outside and warm and welcoming on the inside. It’s peaceful, private, and above all, safe.

Pets

You should never have to choose between your safety and that of your pets. CSN is proud to welcome pets in a special part of the shelter dedicated to keeping them safe, too.

Legal Support

If legal action is a part of your safety plan CSN advocates can support you with an array of different services including protection orders and custody hearings to divorce or other legal matters, our team can support you through the legal steps of your journey.

Medical Support

CSN advocates focus on all forms of safety, including physical, emotional and mental. CSN advocates can connect you with a variety of wellbeing services including therapy, routine medical visits, emergency visits, sexual assault examinations and many more. As an adult, access to care does not require filing a police report. CSN will help you connect with community and state resources to cover the cost of most incident-related care. If no other funds are available CSN may be able to step in and support.

Financial Resources

We recognize the financial hardships that victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking may be facing as a result of their experience. Whether it is legal, medical, counseling, or other crisis assistance a CSN advocate can help you explore your financial options.
